Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Kitchen Sync (“Kitchen Sync”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information when you visit kitchen-sync.co.uk, submit an application, contact form, or Join Now form, create or operate an account with us, connect a Stripe account, communicate with us, or otherwise use our services.

1. Who we are

Kitchen Sync is operated by:

Cameron Armstrong
Email: info@kitchen-sync.co.uk

For the purposes of UK data protection law, Cameron Armstrong is the data controller for the personal information described in this Privacy Policy, except where another organisation, such as Stripe, acts as a separate controller of information it collects directly.

2. Information we collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with Kitchen Sync.

Information you provide through our Join Now form

When you apply to join Kitchen Sync, we may collect personal and business information including:

  • your full name;
  • business or trading name;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • business address;
  • registered company address;
  • company number or other business identifiers;
  • website and social media details;
  • information about your business, products or services;
  • job title or your relationship with the business;
  • billing or payment-related information;
  • information you provide in free-text fields;
  • communications you have with us; and
  • any other information you choose to provide as part of your application.

Please do not provide sensitive personal information unless we specifically ask you to do so and it is necessary for the relevant purpose.

Stripe and payment information

Kitchen Sync uses Stripe to provide payment, account connection, payout and related financial services.

If you choose to join or connect through Stripe, you may be redirected to Stripe or interact with Stripe-hosted components.

Depending on the type of Stripe account and services being used, Stripe may request information such as:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • telephone number;
  • date of birth;
  • home or business address;
  • company and business details;
  • details about directors, owners, representatives or persons with significant control;
  • bank account or payout information;
  • tax information;
  • identity verification information; and
  • identification documents or other information required for regulatory, fraud-prevention or Know Your Customer (KYC) checks.

Some of this information may be collected directly by Stripe rather than by Kitchen Sync.

Stripe may provide Kitchen Sync with information about your connected account, including your Stripe account identifier, business details, onboarding or verification status, payment or payout status and other information required for Kitchen Sync to provide its services.

Kitchen Sync does not necessarily receive or store all of the identity, banking or verification information that you provide directly to Stripe.

Stripe processes personal information in accordance with its own terms and privacy practices. We recommend reviewing Stripe’s privacy information when connecting your account.

We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes for which it was collected unless permitted or required by law.

5. Our lawful bases for processing

Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for processing personal information.

Depending on the circumstances, we may rely on:

Contract

We may process your information where it is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract with you.

For example, this may apply when processing a Join Now application, setting up your account, providing our services or administering payments and payouts.

Legitimate interests

We may process information where it is necessary for our legitimate business interests and those interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

These interests may include:

  • operating and improving Kitchen Sync;
  • assessing businesses wishing to join;
  • communicating with users and businesses;
  • maintaining the security of our systems;
  • preventing fraud and misuse;
  • managing our business relationships; and
  • establishing, exercising or defending legal claims.

Legal obligation

We may process personal information where necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, tax requirements, accounting requirements or other legal obligations.

Consent

Where required, we may rely on your consent, for example for certain marketing communications or non-essential cookies.

Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.

Withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before consent was withdrawn.

6. Stripe

Kitchen Sync partners with Stripe to enable businesses and individuals using Kitchen Sync to connect with Stripe and access payment and/or payout functionality.

When you click a button or link to join, create or connect a Stripe account, information may be exchanged between Kitchen Sync and Stripe.

Stripe may process information independently for purposes including:

  • providing payment and payout services;
  • establishing and administering your Stripe account;
  • identity and business verification;
  • Know Your Customer (KYC) checks;
  • fraud detection and prevention;
  • anti-money laundering compliance;
  • regulatory compliance;
  • risk assessment; and
  • maintaining the security of its services.

Stripe may act as a data processor for certain activities and as an independent data controller for others.

Your use of Stripe’s services is also subject to the applicable Stripe agreements and Stripe’s own privacy policy.

You can read Stripe’s privacy information at stripe.com/privacy.

7. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share personal information where necessary with:

  • Stripe, for payment, payout, account connection, identity verification, fraud prevention and related services;
  • website hosting and infrastructure providers;
  • database, cloud storage and software providers;
  • email and communications providers;
  • analytics and website performance providers;
  • professional advisers, including accountants, lawyers and insurers;
  • fraud prevention and security providers;
  • regulators, government bodies, law enforcement agencies or courts where required by law; and
  • prospective purchasers, investors or advisers in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring or sale of all or part of our business.

Where another organisation processes personal information on our behalf, we take appropriate steps to require it to protect that information and process it in accordance with applicable data protection requirements.

8. International transfers

Some of our suppliers and service providers, including Stripe and technology or cloud service providers, may process personal information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take appropriate steps to ensure that the transfer is permitted under applicable data protection law.

Depending on the destination and recipient, this may include relying on an adequacy decision or appropriate contractual safeguards, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or another legally recognised transfer mechanism.

9. How long we keep your information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Where you join or maintain an ongoing relationship with Kitchen Sync, we will generally retain your account, contact and business information for the duration of that relationship.

After our relationship with you ends, we may retain relevant information for up to 6 years where reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, dispute resolution or record-keeping purposes.

Applications that do not result in an ongoing relationship with Kitchen Sync will generally be retained for up to 12 months, unless we have a legitimate or legal reason to retain the information for longer.

Some information may be deleted or anonymised earlier where it is no longer required.

Information collected and retained independently by Stripe is subject to Stripe’s own data retention policies.

10. Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, accidental loss or destruction.

However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for keeping any account credentials associated with Kitchen Sync or third-party services confidential.

11. Marketing communications

Where permitted by law, we may use your contact details to tell you about Kitchen Sync products, services, features or opportunities that we think may be relevant to you.

Where consent is required, we will ask for it before sending such communications.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by:

  • clicking the unsubscribe link in a marketing email; or
  • contacting us at info@kitchen-sync.co.uk

Opting out of marketing will not prevent us from sending necessary service-related communications concerning your application, account, payments or relationship with Kitchen Sync.

12. Cookies

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, remember preferences, understand website usage, improve performance and, where applicable, support analytics or marketing.

Essential cookies may be used where necessary for the website to function.

We will request consent before using non-essential cookies where required by law.

Further information about the cookies we use and how you can manage your preferences should be available in our Cookie Policy or cookie preference centre.

13. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights in relation to your personal information.

These may include the right to:

  • access personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • erase your personal information in certain circumstances;
  • restrict how we use your personal information in certain circumstances;
  • object to certain processing, including certain processing based on legitimate interests;
  • data portability, where applicable;
  • withdraw consent where we rely on consent; and
  • raise concerns about decisions made solely through automated processing where applicable.

These rights are not absolute and may be subject to exemptions under applicable law.

To exercise your rights, contact us at:

info@kitchen-sync.co.uk

We may need to request information to confirm your identity before responding to your request.

14. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we use your personal information, please contact us first so that we can investigate.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK’s data protection regulator.

Information about making a complaint is available from the ICO at ico.org.uk.

15. Third-party websites and services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including Stripe.

Third-party websites and services operate under their own privacy policies and terms. Kitchen Sync is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites that we do not control.

We encourage you to review the privacy information provided by any third party before submitting personal information to them.

16. Children’s privacy

Kitchen Sync’s services are intended for businesses and adults acting on behalf of businesses and are not intended for children.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through our Join Now process.

If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

17. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our services, suppliers, legal obligations or how we process personal information.

When we make changes, we will publish the updated Privacy Policy on our website and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Where changes materially affect how we use your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to bring those changes to your attention where required.
